Richmondโs food scene has been popping off this year with plenty of new spots opening and longtime names quietly bowing out.
Sadly, another beloved spot has announced their closure.
A Noms Mag community member (@jesh.9027) shared with us an Instagram story from iTofu posted on September 20 announcing that the beloved tofu dessert shop will officially close on September 28, 2025.
Alongside the news, they also shared that their founder, affectionately called the Tofu Queen, will retire at the same time.
For many locals, this one stings. iTofu first began as a night market stall back in 2012 before opening its current brick-and-mortar store in 2018.
Over the years, it became a go-to for fresh, customizable tofu puddings, parfaits, soy milk, and other treats that blended nostalgia with innovation.
Their signature item was the Organic iTofucotta sweetened with organic cane sugar, which came in flavours such as plain, earl grey, and green tea.
Other popular items include Hot Tofu Pudding with Black Glutinous Rice and seasonal options like Fresh Mango Tofu Pudding.
Even durian fans had a treat with the Durian Organic iTofucotta, made with real durian and organic ingredients.
In their farewell post, the team thanked the community for years of support and shared memories of countless bowls of silky tofu pudding, refreshing drinks, and the joy that came with every visit.
They invited fans to stop by one last time for a final taste before the doors close.
This closure adds iTofu to a growing list of Richmond spots that have recently shut down, including White Spot Richmond Centre, Cherryโs Food House, and Milk Cow Cafe.
