Sad news for Richmond foodies: Deer Garden Signatures has closed its doors at Union Square Shopping Centre.

This longtime favourite has announced the end of an era for its Capstan Way spot, leaving locals nostalgic and heartbroken.

The closure announcement was shared to us by a community member that the restaurant posted on its Instagram and website.

Considering that the restaurant’s Instagram profile isn’t super active, it is likely the announcement went under the radar to the public.

Known for its big bowls of customizable noodle combos and HK-style café dishes, Deer Garden Signature has been a staple since its first location opened in 2010.

Back then, a noodle combo would set you back just $7.95.

Despite price changes, the spot has remained a go-to for a delicious, hearty meals.

Deer Garden’s journey hasn’t been without its bumps.

The brand has seen several locations open, move, and even close over the years.

The Capstan Way location, which opened around 2015, has now shut down as of July 7th due to the lease expiring.

But there’s a silver lining!

According to the closure notice, Deer Garden is relocating to a spot near Richmond Centre, specifically at 8119 Park Road, a building next to Kumare Restaurant.

Since none of the units in the new spot aren’t previously a restaurant, renovations might take a while.

The closure notice encourages fans to visit Deer Garden’s other locations in Richmond and on Fraser Street in the meantime.

Share this bittersweet news with your friends and reminisce about all the good times and great meals at Deer Garden Signatures.
