It looks like one of Richmond’s family-friendly hangout spots has closed its doors.

Wonder Kids Cafe, the popular kids-friendly playground and restaurant near the Richmond Oval, has officially closed as of late August.

A Noms Mag community member (Ma L) spotted new signage revealing that the space will soon be taken over by a new pho restaurant called Pho Capital.

According to Wonder Kids Cafe’s Instagram, the closure is temporary as the team plans to relocate to a new address that will be announced later.

The post thanked customers for their support and apologized for the inconvenience, assuring families that they hope to welcome them again in the future.

Wonder Kids Cafe first opened in December 2022 and quickly became a go-to for families looking for a spot where both parents and children could relax.

The concept combined a cozy cafe with an indoor playground, offering a variety of themed play areas.

Areas like a library, kids’ kitchen, makeup room, and mini supermarket, along with slides and birthday party setups.

The spot was designed as a hybrid between a restaurant and an interactive play space.

Parents could enjoy adult-friendly food like sandwiches, mains, and desserts while kids played nearby.

It also became a popular venue for themed birthday parties, offering everything from superhero adventures to princess celebrations.

While the closure marks the end of this chapter at the Richmond Oval location, the team’s message hints at a new beginning for the brand elsewhere in the city.

Wonder Kids Cafe now joins other Richmond closures like Grill Party, Best Rice Roll, and Gang Nam BBQ.
