Richmond’s food scene is about to see a familiar face return to a new home!
Copa Café, a beloved Cha Chaan Teng that served the Richmond community for nine years, closed its doors on September 23rd.
At the time, rumors swirled about who might move into the space, with names like Big Way Hot Pot and Deer Garden circulating.
Now, the wait is over.
One of our community members (tip from @scrathis) recently spotted a notice on the former Copa Café unit, officially announcing Deer Garden’s arrival and stating it will be coming soon.
This marks a big move for the iconic HK-style noodle chain, which also shut down its Capstan Way location earlier this summer after nearly a decade of service.
Deer Garden Signatures has been a staple in Richmond since 2010, known for its customizable noodle bowls and hearty Hong Kong-style café dishes.
With its affordable and satisfying meals, it’s remained a go-to spot for many locals.
The closure of their Capstan Way location left many fans disheartened, but this new opening is sure to excite regulars.
While specific details about the new Deer Garden location near the Richmond Oval are still scarce, it’s safe to expect all of their fan-favorite dishes.
If it’s their popular noodle combos or HK-style classics, Deer Garden is sure to bring a familiar comfort to the area.
This new outpost will continue the legacy of both Deer Garden and the bustling food scene at Richmond Oval.
We’ll keep you updated on further details as they emerge!
