Richmond’s New $9.99 Pork Hock Rice Stall Is Finally Open

Richmond’s food court scene keeps evolving, and the latest addition is one we’ve been waiting for.

Yummy Pork, the stall dedicated to Longjiang-style braised pork hock rice, has now officially opened inside Parker Place.

The new stall took over the former Rainbow Café unit, whose longtime owners retired earlier this year.

What makes Yummy Pork stand out is its focus on one classic Chaoshan specialty: pork hock rice.

This dish, with over a thousand years of history, is built around tender braised pork, garlicky dipping sauce, mustard greens, and rice.

Yummy Pork quietly opened in mid August, but there’s a unique twist.

To order, you actually head next door to Yummy Bao, where staff take your payment. The Yummy Pork team then prepares your meal fresh.

The price point is the real hook.

At $9.99, you get a full portion of juicy pork hock with rice and greens.

It’s not as rich or refined as versions from nearby Ninety Nine at President’s Plaza or Ng Kee Cafe at Aberdeen Square, but those cost around $16.

This feels more like a classic two-item-and-rice stall: filling, affordable, and good enough.

There’s also room to upgrade.

From the Yummy Bao menu, you can add extras like marinated egg, pig head, pork ears, liver, or intestines to customize your bowl.

For Parker Place, which has long been known as an underrated hub for cheap eats, Yummy Pork fits right in.

It delivers a no-frills, wallet-friendly lunch option that’s bound to draw regulars looking for a solid meal under $10.

Yummy Pork joins other recently opened Richmond food spots like Hong Phat, LUCA, and Egg Lab.
