If you recently picked up shrimp or fish crackers from an Asian grocery in BC, you’ll want to double-check the label if you have an egg allergy.
Because some of them just got recalled.
On August 1, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a food recall warning for two snack brands sold in British Columbia after it was discovered they contain undeclared egg.

The affected products include two batches of Ny.Siok Shrimp Crackers (500g bags with expiry dates of January 2, 2026 and July 4, 2026) and ZMC Bangka Getas Fish Crackers (250g with lot code 260210).
The issue is that none of these snacks list egg as an ingredient, which poses a major risk for anyone with an egg allergy.
So far, no allergic reactions have been reported, but the CFIA is urging consumers not to eat, serve, or sell the affected items.
Anyone with an allergy or sensitivity to egg is advised to either throw out the product or return it to where they bought it.
The recall was triggered by routine CFIA test results, and the agency is continuing its investigation, which may lead to additional product recalls.
For now, the warning is limited to BC and involves H&G Tan Enterprises Inc. as the recalling firm.
If you or someone in your household is allergic to eggs, give your pantry a quick scan.
