If you thought parking was stressful, imagine backing your car into a bubble tea store!
That’s exactly what went down in Richmond on Saturday, August 24th.
Photos and videos surfaced online showing a white Mercedes Benz accidentally flooring it while reversing, crashing straight into the Bubble World in Union Square.
A video from an overhead camera, looking over the parking lot shows the situation could’ve been very tragic.

Usually, there would have been a line from MACU Tea that would have been in the exact area that the car reversed into.
Thankfully, the line at MACU Tea wasn’t as long as it usually is, so fewer people were in the area when the SUV reversed.
That being said, when you watch the full video, you can’t but help me sweating as there were individuals walking behind the vehicle not knowing what was about to happen.
The vehicle ended up crashing into the wall instead of smashing through the windows, which could have caused even more damage and danger.
But thankfully, it appears no one was seriously injured.
The clip shows a white Mercedes SUV trying multiple times to park, but things quickly go south and the vehicle rams into the BBT tea spot, leaving onlookers and line outside MACU Tea stunned.
One Redditor, who witnessed the whole thing up close, shared their own perspective, saying it all happened so fast.

The car hit the gas instead of the brakes, resulting in a loud and chaotic “VROOM” right into the store.
Naturally, everyone in the comments had opinions.
Some suggested the driver panicked after mistaking the gas for the brake, a mistake that happens more often than you’d think.
Others pointed fingers at poor driving skills, with one commenter even joking that the driver might need to retake lessons.
Others speculated whether the driver was just nervous, possibly feeling the pressure of people waiting for them to park.
Actual damages to Bubble World and the state of the driver have not been released.
Locals will jest about how these incidents are common in Richmond, with one happening just last month in Empire Centre and another earlier this year where a Tesla smashed into the Chun Chun on No.3 Rd.
The best thing you can do is stay aware of your surroundings, as each neighborhood and municipality has its own stereotypes—whether they hold some truth or not.
