After months of anticipation, Läderach has finally opened its first store in Western Canada at CF Richmond Centre.
On opening day, September 19, curious shoppers packed the store to get their hands on the famous Swiss chocolate brand.
The sleek black storefront, located beside the LEGO store, drew plenty of attention, with long lines of people eager to step inside and sample the goods.
Known for their FrischSchoggi, massive slabs of fresh Swiss chocolate embedded with nuts, fruits, and other premium ingredients, Läderach makes chocolate that is as much a visual feast as it is a taste experience.
Staff break off portions by hand from the giant slabs, wrapping them up fresh for customers.
We sampled a few bites, and it was hard not to walk out with a bag – priced at $16.99 per 100g, roughly the size of your hand.
Inside, the shelves were lined with beautifully packaged chocolates perfect for gifting, including seasonal maple leaf designs, autumn-themed chocolate baskets, and limited-edition flavours like whisky caramel blond.
Truffles, pralines, chocolate-covered nuts, and bars also filled the displays, offering plenty of variety beyond their signature slabs.
The atmosphere felt celebratory, with staff in crisp uniforms guiding customers through the offerings, and shoppers excitedly choosing gifts or treating themselves.
With the holiday season around the corner, there’s little doubt that Läderach will quickly become a go-to spot for premium chocolate gifting in Metro Vancouver.
Läderach first started in Switzerland in 1962 and has since expanded to over 20 countries worldwide.
This Richmond store marks their first venture into BC, joining four existing Canadian locations in Ontario.
Now officially open, Läderach adds to the growing food and retail scene at CF Richmond Centre.
They now join other newly opened food spots in Richmond like Oui Patisserie, U Town Hot Pot, and D Spot Dessert Cafe.
