We’ve got some bittersweet news that’s bound to tug at your taco-loving heartstrings.
Tacofino Gastown, a local fav for burritos and tacos, has shared on March 15th a press release saying “so long for now” on August 18th, 2024.
Since its opening in January 2015, Tacofino Gastown morphed from a new kid on the block to a staple in Vancouver’s culinary scene.
It’s been 10 years of epic eats, unforgettable parties, and community spirit.
But why close, you ask?
It’s a tale as old as time in the restaurant biz: the lease is up.
And with the building’s future uncertain, Tacofino’s team had to make the tough call.
Tacofino Gastown was more than a restaurant to me, it is home to memories I’ll carry forever. To our team and community, our heart; thank you.
Gino Di Domenico, Managing Partner of Tacofino
Yet, hope isn’t totally lost.
Gino hints at a potential return to Gastown – conditions permitting.
In the meantime, Tacofino’s spirit will live on, ready to embark on new culinary quests elsewhere.
And in true to Tacofino’s laid-back yet lively essence, they’re planning a farewell fiesta that promises to be nothing short of spectacular.
From spring into summer, expect a lineup of events celebrating the good times, the team, and the community that’s been central to Tacofino’s journey.
Though the Gastown chapter is closing, Tacofino’s story is far from over as they continue to expand throughout the province.
