We’ve got some bittersweet news that’s bound to tug at your taco-loving heartstrings.
Back in March, Tacofino announced the closing their Gastown outpost after 10 incredible years of operation.
The final day was set for August 18th, 2024, marking the end of an era for this beloved spot in Vancouver’s culinary scene.
But, as often happens in the restaurant biz, the lease is up, and with the building’s future uncertain, the team had to make the tough call to say goodbye.
Unfortunately, that August 18th day is coming right up this weekend.
But before closing the doors for good, Tacofino Gastown is planning to go out with a bang.
The grand finale is a non-stop weekend celebration, starting Saturday night with a collaboration between Tacofino and @rutsworldwide.
Expect some surprise guests, epic tunes, and, of course, the signature laid-back Tacofino vibe.
The party continues on Sunday, August 18th, from 3-9 pm, with music by @saem.dj and Gastown alum @phynersideoflife, alongside food and drink specials to make the farewell extra sweet.
Tacofino Gastown has always been more than just a place to eat—it’s been a community hub, a spot for late-night bites, and a place where memories were made.
Grab your friends, savour those tacos, and soak in the good vibes one last time to celebrate the end of an incredible 10-year journey in style.
While this may be the end of Tacofino in Gastown for now, their spirit will continue to live on as they continue to expand across the province.
