TikTok’s Famous Cucumber Guy Ate His Way Through Vancouver—Here’s What He Loved (And What He Didn’t)

Logan, better known as @logagm or the “cucumber guy” on TikTok (7.2 M followers), recently came through Vancouver with his sisters for a short vacay.

If you’ve seen his cucumber obsession or tried his cucumber salad recipe, you know he has a knack for making food fun, simple, and a little chaotic.

So naturally, we had to pay attention when he started dropping Vancouver food recaps.

And like every food trip, he went to A LOT of spots.

Some spots blew him away, others… not so much.

Here’s the full rundown of everywhere he ate in Vancouver.

1. Dante Italian Sandwiches

Fresh off the plane, Logan went straight to Italian sandwich shop, Dante’s on Robson Street for some brunch.

The shop opened earlier this Spring and its popularity made its way to Logan’s ears.

Here he ordered the Italiana and Il Veg.

His verdict? “So freaking good” with heaps of meat and cheese. The only flop for him was the sun-dried tomatoes, but that’s more of a personal taste thing.

2. Small Victory Cafe Yaletown

He and his sisters popped into Small Victory’s new Yaletown outpost for Americanos and an almond croissant.

The pastries looked gorgeous and he seemed impressed, even if the highlight of the stop was his botched bowl cut joke.

3. Hongdae Pocha

For dinner, Logan hit Hongdae Pocha, a Korean pocha-style spot in the West End.

He went for pork belly (with mozzarella on top), cold noodles, and an egg omelette.

The onions that came with the pork belly were a dream, and he declared the whole spread “so delish”. So much that he went back another day.

4. Granville Island Run

Logan’s second day started off with the water taxi to Granville Island.

There he went to Blue Parrot Coffee, where he got some lattes. No complaints here.

Unfortunately, the croissant and apple strudel from Stuart’s flopped hard—he called it the “worst croissant” he’s ever had.

Redemption came from Kaisereck Delicatessen, where Logan loaded his perogie with onions, sausage, and beer, which he loved.

After taking some photos, he went to Vancouver Fish Company for some fish and chips by the water.

It came with the bonus of seals swimming right beside his table.

Whether the fish and chips get a thumbs up or down is unknown, as he didn’t make any comment about the food.

Before heading back, he stopped by ZARA’S Italian Deli & Pasta, where he picked up olives stuffed with blue cheese, feta, and sangria flavours.

Though the $18 price tag didn’t thrill him.

Back at the hotel, he paired them with his classic vacay snack: Doritos, pickles, wine, and smoked salmon.

5. Moltan Roll Bar & Sake

He visited the popular Kitsilano sushi spot that many followers recommended.

His take?

It was “good but very homemade vibes.”

The avocado was a standout, where he said it was the best he’s had in sushi.

The truffle pasta he ordered was tasty, but left him still hungry.

That hunger led him back to Jang Mo Jib on Robson Street for naengmyun and beef to close the night.

6. Saku

@logagm

Vancouver really has the best food🇨🇦 where should I go next💁‍♀️

♬ original sound – Logan

Day three began at Saku in the West End, another spot Logan said was highly recommended to him by his community.

Most locals know that Saku is one of the top Japanese katsu spots in the city.

Here, he got vegetable curry, cheese katsu, and jumbo fried shrimp. He loved it all, calling the shrimp “three shrimps in one.”

7. CowDog

After a nice walk on the seawall, Logan and his sisters went to Kitsilano. Here they met with Joe from the viral coffee and matcha shop, Cow Dog.

Not entirely sure of their history, but Joe is also a longtime creator.

8. Bar Tartare

After sipping on some matcha, Logan moved on to Bar Tartare in Gastown. He shared that he was so excited to visit this spot because he loved the vibes.

He ordered orange wine, pickles, tomato bread, and prosciutto with melon. The vibe was impeccable, and the food matched.

9. Zoomak Korean Restaurant

Right next door is Zoomak, which stole the show (the trip).

Logan and his sisters ordered japchae, clams, a scallion pancake, and cold noodles.

He called it his favourite meal of the trip, so good that they went back a second time before leaving the city.

10. Breka Bakery

Not everything hit.

He was recommended Breka Bakery—a 24/7 chain that locals know is more for convenience than quality—and he was not impressed.

Both the coffee and baked goods were described as “mid.”

We even dropped a snarky comment on his video asking who would recommend Breka to an out-of-towner, and it got over 800 likes.

Safe to say locals agreed.

11. Jinmi

From there, he redeemed his day at Jinmi, where he finally tried their spicy and soy marinated raw crab.

He loved both, especially the spicy version, and shouted out the rice and sesame oil hack for eating crab heads.

12. Kingyo

Another hit came from West End’s longtime Japanese izakaya spot, Kingyo.

After all, can always count on the group that brought Raisu to the city right?

He ordered wasabi cucumbers, tomato kimchi, truffle mushroom tofu, pressed Wagyu, avocado, and salmon sushi, plus a triple miso udon.

He raved about the cucumbers (of course) and tomato kimchi, saying they were so good he needs to make them at home.

13. Japa Dog

On the way back, he stopped a Vancouver local legend – Japa Dog – for an egg salad sandwich hot dog that he called “so bomb.”

Not usually the most common option to get, but still a positive hit!

14. Rocanini Coffee

@logagm

Flight cancelled so a couple more days in Vancouver😇

♬ original sound – Logan

Vancouver’s bakery cafe scene needed a bit of redemption, as most of the spots that Logan has gone to didn’t quite hit the mark.

Luckily, he started off his 4th day at Rocanini Coffee Roasters by BC Place and found it very good.

15. Cactus Club

After a stroll in the Vancouver Aquarium, it made Logan and his sisters hungry.

The cravings led him to Cactus Club for sushi, peach bellinis, and honey Cajun fries, which he said were good enough to replace truffle fries forever.

He also loved their London Fog crème brûlée and lava cake.

16. Zoomak Round Two

True to his word, Logan went back to Zoomak for cold noodles and pork bossam before heading out.

He even met followers there who said they came because of his first video.

17. Big Way Hot Pot

Breakfast hot pot at Big Way delivered.

He was amazed at the wide selection of ingredients, which all seemed quite normal for Vancouverites now that the food scene here is saturated with self serve malatang spots.

And of course, he had to sprinkle in a bit of MSG into his self-made sauce – an ode to his regular addition of MSG to his recipes.

He tried the medium Szechuan broth, matcha ice cream, and gave it two thumbs up.

18. Cafe Club

Cafe Club turned out to be another coffee win for him in Vancouver, with a chic interior and delicious coffee.

19. Grapes and Soda

At Grapes and Soda, he ordered a bottle of rosé, smoked olives, and tomato bread with tomato butter.

He loved it all, especially the smoky olives.

20. New Fuji

He capped off the trip at New Fuji (another restaurant part of the Kingyo family) with Wagyu carpaccio, Wagyu sushi, karaage, truffled corn, avocado sushi, and vegetables.

Everything was a hit, especially the truffle corn.

He even met a local fashion brand owner who gifted him clothes he plans to wear for the rest of his trip.

21. Pepino’s Spaghetti House

One spot that didn’t make it to the video series, but featured in a carousel post, is Pepino’s.

Most locals are well aware of the popular pasta joint, which is part of the restaurant group with Savio Volpe, Cafe La Tana, and Elio Volpe.

The Verdict

We’re not sure who fed Logan these spots, but some were standard recommendations and some were quite odd.

While Vancouver’s pastry scene didn’t quite impress Logan, he fell in love with local Korean eats, izakayas, the sea wall and the city’s seafood moments.

Zoomak in particular stole his heart, while Breka… not so much.
