The matcha craze in Vancouver is going to get even crazier!

Toronto’s ultra-popular Matcha Matcha has officially set its sights westward, teasing fans with a big announcement on Instagram: they’re expanding to Vancouver.

The post simply reads, “Which Vancouver neighbourhood do you want to see us in? 👀” but that’s all it took to get the internet talking.

Comments quickly rolled in with hopeful requests for locations like Downtown and Mount Pleasant.

If we had to bet, we’d put our money on Downtown or Richmond.

And if you’re unfamiliar with the brand, here’s why this is a big deal.

Matcha Matcha exploded onto Toronto’s cafe scene in 2024 with massive buzz, sleek design, and an unapologetic love for all things matcha.

From day one, the lines were long and the aesthetic was dialed in.

Their approach was modern, bold, and completely matcha-focused – a rarity in a city already flooded with coffee shops.

Instead of leaning into tradition, Matcha Matcha built a brand around experimentation.

Their space evokes a matcha “lab” with concrete tones, moody lighting, and next-level drinks that blend the green tea base with unexpected flavours and bright colours.

Their Toronto drink menu includes creations like a Coco Pandan Latte, White Chocolate Pistachio Matcha, Strawberry Matcha, and a vivid BLU Latte.

Over time, they’ve expanded into hojicha-based drinks, pastries, and ice cream, turning their concept into a full-blown dessert destination.

In March 2025, they doubled down with a second location in Markham, further cementing their cult status in Ontario.

Now they’re ready to test the waters in B.C., a province that already loves its matcha lattes.

At the time of writing, there’s no confirmed opening date or exact location for Matcha Matcha’s Vancouver outpost.

But given their proven ability to go viral (and nail the TikTok and Instagram aesthetic), it’s safe to say that once they land, there will be lines.
