Back in November 2024, popular Asian French bakery, Remi Patisserie, announced plans to shut down sometime in 2025.

Well they finally revealed the exact date of when it will sadly happen.

Remi Patisserie has now announced that their last day of service will be October 12, 2025.

The bittersweet update came directly from owner and pastry chef Remi Ho, who shared the news with his followers on Instagram.

In the heartfelt post, Remi wrote, “So… today our buyer just dropped off the deposit. We are inching away from completing the sale of our bakery. 90% chance this October 12th will be our last day of service.”

Known for its Asian-inspired French pastries, Remi Patisserie has called Cambie Street home since 2020.

From cloud cakes to mango pomelo sago and hojicha flan, Remi’s creations struck the perfect balance between refined technique and nostalgic flavour.

Before opening the standalone shop, Remi built up his following through pop-ups and kitchen collaborations – including his time at Sweet Barrel, Origo Club, and a number of celebrated Vancouver restaurants.

This year’s closure announcement had already shocked many regulars.

But now, with an official end date in sight, the farewell feels much more real.

The main reason behind Remi’s decision to close is rooted in a personal journey.

He previously shared that he has decided to focus on creating a life with his loved one.

With plans to follow her back to Japan, he intends to take on the challenge of moving to a new country, even though he doesn’t yet speak the language.

In his latest update, Remi also hinted that there’s still a little more left before the doors shut for good.

He’ll be teaching and passing down his pastry knowledge during the second half of October, with emails to prospective students going out soon.

The closure will also coincide with Remi Patisserie’s fifth anniversary, bringing the story full circle for the baker.

As Remi noted in his post, “It was a real roller coaster ride for me and my staffs. I have learned so much throughout these years and I hope I can be better and do better on the next venture.”
