Most Vancouver closures are permanent, but this one barely lasted two months.
Back in November 2025, we spotted a closure notice posted at Cafe & Life Co. near Cambie Street.

The Richmond location on Buswell Street was still going, but for anyone living in Fairview, that is not exactly a quick detour for a morning latte.
Then, just a few weeks later, something unexpected happened.
By the end of December, Cafe and Life Co. quietly reopened the exact same storefront under a new franchise partner.
It is the first franchise location for the brand.

Cafe and Life Co. started in 2021 with a simple goal: reconnect the local neighbourhood through good coffee and a welcoming space that feels like a second living room.
The Vancouver location spent four years building a devoted following around its specialty drinks, fresh pastries, and those relaxed brunch plates that made it a weekend go-to in the area.
So what does the comeback look like?
The menu is sticking with the same signatures people already know, including the Uji Matcha Latte and the Mont Blanc Latte, which were always the crowd favorites.

You will also find fresh croissants, bagels, brunch plates, waffles, and the usual pastry case.
The message is clear: same cafe, same energy, just a different person running the day-to-day.
The cafe is also putting out a call for local artists who want to display their work on the walls as part of a rotating showcase that cycles every two to three months.
In a city where restaurant closures keep stacking up, a reopening at the same address with the same menu and the same name is the kind of news that actually feels good to report.
