Another chapter in the West End food scene is coming to a close.

Jingle Bao, the Instagram-famous dumpling spot on Denman, has officially announced its closure date: July 31, 2025.

Back in April, we reported that Jingle Bao had been listed for sale, with its full kitchen, 48-seat layout, and liquor license all up for grabs.

Since opening in 2020, Jingle Bao carved out a niche for itself in Vancouver’s competitive dumpling scene.

Their rainbow “Signature Magnificent Seven” xiao long bao platter turned heads and flooded IG feeds, while the supersized versions and luxe flavours like lobster and crab added a playful twist to tradition.

It was Vancouver is Awesome that made the discovery of the closure date.

The weird part is there’s been the goodbye post wasn’t on their social media or website.

Instead, the news appeared on their OpenTable page.

The message reads:
“Thank you for supporting us, unfortunately we are closing our doors July 31st, 2025. Thank you for the incredi-bao time!”

If that’s not the most bittersweet pun to break the news, we don’t know what is.

As for what will take over the space, nothing has been announced yet.

The restaurant joins a string of recent closures in the city, including Grab n Go, Hululu, and Bob Likes Thai.
