Another quiet closure has hit Vancouver’s dining scene.
West Broadway’s Saucin Staples, the Indian fusion fast-casual spot known for its customizable comfort bowls and sauces, has quietly shut down.
The storefront has now transformed into a Thai restaurant, signaling the end of the three-year-old eatery.

Launched in March 2021, Saucin Staples was inspired by the layered flavours of Mumbai and the multicultural palate of Vancouver.
The menu was built around a simple but flexible idea: pair your choice of staple, whether rice or noodles, with a variety of hearty proteins and rich sauces like coconut curry, creamy tikka, or tangy vindaloo.
This format gave customers a casual, build-your-own experience while still delivering bold Indo-Canadian flavours.
Despite the low-key setup, the restaurant earned itself a loyal following.

It carried an impressive 4.8-star rating on Google, with reviews praising both the flavours and affordable prices.
Dishes like butter chicken mac and cheese, coconut fish curry, and masala steak bowls kept regulars coming back for lunch and dinner.
But things had started to slow down.
The restaurant’s social media accounts went quiet months ago, with their last Instagram post in April and Facebook update back in January.
By the looks of the reviews, it appears the restaurant likely closed sometime in July.
The brand’s shutdown is a quiet end to what was once a promising concept.
Saucin Staples now joins the list of recently shuttered Vancouver spots like The Halal Guys, Chi, and Kibune Sushi Restaurant.
