It looks like another food spot in Downtown Vancouver could be changing hands soon.

We spotted a listing last week for Kurotaki Chabann, the Taiwanese restaurant and bubble tea shop hybrid tucked away on Drake Street.

Opened back in January 2022, Kurotaki was designed to be a social hub.

They offered full dine-in seating that was comfy and relaxed, with a plentiful number of benches and table options inside a clean, aesthetic space.

Kurotaki served Asian fried chicken, Taiwanese beef noodles and meal boxes alongside drinks.

Over time, they leaned into a more playful retail vibe too, with blind boxes for sale and even a vending machine loaded with collectible toys.

Now, it’s all up for sale.

According to the listing, the 1900-sq.ft unit includes 60 seats, a liquor license, and an internal ventilation system.

That means it’s already equipped to serve a variety of food types – from noodle soup to ice cream.

The lease runs through July 2028, with a five-year renewal option, and rent clocks in at just over $11,400 per month.

The current owner reportedly invested over $600,000 into renovations when building it from scratch.

The asking price is $279,000.

But whether Kurotaki will be taken over by a new operator, rebranded, or shut down completely remains to be seen.

But for now, it’s yet another sign of the ongoing shifts in Downtown Vancouver’s food and drink scene.
