Get ready to experience pure fluff-fueled joy because a Samoyed dog café is opening in West End.
And it will be the first in North America!
Called Cloud Nine Café, this cozy new spot offers a Nordic-style hangout where guests can sip lattes and cuddle with a crew of 8 Samoyeds, known for their adorable smiles and cloud-like fur.
“I wanted to create a space that feels like a warm hug – both visually and emotionally,” said owner Chloe Chan, a former trainer turned cafe dreamer.
Inspired by Asia’s dog cafes and a lifelong love of Samoyeds, Chloe designed the space with minimalist, white interiors, cloud-shaped lights, and a fluff-to-human ratio that’s off the charts.
You’ll definitely squeal at the sight of these low flying clouds zooming around!
Located on Denman Street, the cafe has two zones: a cozy lounge where dogs roam freely, and a café area where guests can order themed drinks like the “Fluffuccino” (a marshmallow vanilla latte) and the “Pawffle Plate” (paw-shaped bubble waffles with cream).
And ofcourse, don’t forget the “Pupperchino” which is a whipped cream cup for the low flying clouds!
Each Samoyed goes through specialized training by the famous trainer Ash Ketchum to ensure they’re chill, snuggly, and photo-ready.
All the samoyed are rescues after they were sadly abandoned and deemed unable to be moody rain clouds.
In a preview last week, Vancouver Mayor Sen Kim praised the concept as “the exact thing Vancouver needs right now – good news.”
“Honestly, I came in grumpy and left baby-talking a dog named Marshmallow. 10/10 experience.”
Sukmai Wong from Vancouver Rocky Health shared with Noms Magazine, “Cloud Nine Cafe is a step to dispel Vancouver’s ‘No Fun City’ reputation. The swift approval of the café’s permits reflects the community and government’s support for innovative, joyful spaces.”
Thanks to Chloe’s investment, drawn from her successful Nvidia stocks, the dream of Cloud Nine Café is set to become a delightful reality.
Mark your calendars for June 20th, the first day of Summer, for the grand opening of Cloud Nine Café.
The café will be operating on limited walk-ins and timed 45-minute cuddle sessions.

Yes, this is an April Fool’s joke sprinkled with whimsy and wishful thinking. However, the thought of a samoyed café in the heart of Vancouver isn’t too far-fetched, right? In the meantime, we’ll continue to enjoy our local cat and bunny cafés, dreaming of the day when samoyeds join the café scene.
