East Vancouver just scored a major new charming addition to its dining scene, and this one skips the clichés.
Folietta, the newest project from Wentworth Hospitality Group (the team behind popular spots like Tableau, Maxine’s, and Homer Street Café), officially opened on May 27 in the heart of Grandview-Woodland.
It brings soulful Italian cooking, an amaro-packed bar menu, and an elegant but approachable vibe to the city’s east side.

Folietta boldly skips the pizza and instead focuses on handmade pastas, family-style mains, and show-stopping dishes like a bone-in veal chop Parmigiana and a 32oz Bistecca Fiorentina.
Even the kids’ menu gets the chef treatment, with housemade Rigatoni Alfredo and Linguine & Meatballs.
“Folietta is all about sharing—just like in Italy,” says Chef de Cuisine Imtiaaz Patel (prev. Livia, Autostrada, and Boulevard).
He and Executive Chef Bobby Milheron (prev. West and Boulevard) aim to channel regional Italian tradition through a Vancouver lens, spotlighting seasonal and local ingredients.
The beverage program is just as ambitious.
Curated by J-S Dupuis, the bar offers negronis on tap, shaved-ice amaro slushies, and a bellini worthy of Cipriani.
And if you’re into amaro, prepare to geek out as their collection is among the most extensive in the city.
The space, designed by Ste Marie Studio, blends Italian warmth with West Coast minimalism.
The restaurant is split up into distinct dining areas: an open kitchen, and a semi-enclosed patio, all designed to feel like a natural extension of the Grandview-Woodland community.
Folietta is open daily from 3PM to 5:30PM for aperitivo, followed by dinner service until 10PM (11PM on weekends).
Weekend brunch is coming soon.
East Van, you’ve got a new go-to.
