It looks like there is another quiet changing of the guard happening in the Chinatown-Gastown border.
While some closures go out with a bang, others just fade away.
And we just spotted that Qieu Cafe on Abbott Street has officially shut its doors.
Qieu Cafe first opened back in 2015, serving as a cozy, family-run stop for Vietnamese staples like pho, banh mi, and salad rolls for nearly a decade.

It wasn’t necessarily the most hyped spot in the city, holding a modest 3.6-star rating, but it seemed like an unpretentious fixture for locals needing a quick lunch or dinner in the area.
Now, the spot has closed, marking the end of its ten-year run.
But, the unit won’t be staying empty for long.
We spotted that a new concept called Hestia Hearth is already in progress to take over the space.
According to its Instagram, this spot is the sister spot of Davie Street’s The Hestia Veggie.

However, this Chinatown spot won’t be entirely dedicated to vegetarian Vietnamese items.
This turnover adds to a growing list of departures in the city’s dining scene.
Qieu Cafe joins other recently closed food spots in Vancouver, including Ramen Kounotori, The French Table, and Restaurant Yugo.
Address: 628 Abbott St, Vancouver, BC
