It looks like the West End’s food scene is getting another major player.
If you have walked past the Robson Street unit that formerly housed the Japanese matcha dessert shop Daigyo, you might have noticed a bright new orange facade has taken just over.
We spotted signage confirming that The Waffle Co. is moving in, marking the brand’s very first location in Vancouver proper.

While they might be new to downtown, The Waffle Co. is actually a global name.
Founded in 2017 by the creators of Giani’s Ice Cream, the brand has exploded to over 100 stores in India.
They made their initial splash in the Metro Vancouver market back in 2024 with a spot in Surrey, followed quickly by a White Rock expansion in 2025.
Now, they are bringing their signature concept to the heart of the city.
The big draw here is the specific dietary angle: everything on the menu is 100% eggless.

Despite the lack of eggs, they are famous for their crunchy waffles, mini pancakes, and “thick” shakes.
The menu also features coffee, mini pancakes, and unique “waffle cakes,” positioning them as a go-to spot for indulgent treats that cater to a wider range of dietary needs.
The team is already having fun with the neighbours before they even open.

The window decals feature some cheeky marketing text that reads: “Hello Robson… This is NOT a dessert place! It’s a PROBLEM. It’s a BAD IDEA. To come just once.”
Another sign on the window teases a future perk, promising a “Free Waffle + Coffee” for those who visit on their eventual soft opening day.
There is no official opening date announced just yet, but the arrival of The Waffle Co. signals a “sugar rush” for the area.
They join other incoming dessert spots in the West End like Heavenly Desserts and Chaiiwala, turning the neighborhood into a serious hub for sweets.
