With Starbucks’ viral Bearista glass cup flying off shelves and reselling for double the price, Walmart Canada has entered the chat.

They did so with a surprisingly funny and budget-friendly workaround.

In a recent Instagram video, Walmart Canada’s social media team shared a tongue-in-cheek hack showing fans how to recreate the look of the highly coveted Bearista glass.

And it is using something found right on their own store shelves (aisle 2): a bear-shaped honey bottle, that many of us have likely seen before.

The video walks viewers through the process.

Step one: buy the plastic bear bottle of honey.

Step two: empty it into another container.

Step three: fill the cleaned bear bottle with your favourite milk and pour in your espresso.

The result is a homemade version of the now-sold-out Starbucks cup.

No 4 AM lineups or inflated resale prices required.

The post quickly gained traction, with hundreds of users in the comments praising the social media team for their creativity.

The viral Bearista cup, part of Starbucks’ recent holiday collection, sparked early morning lineups across Metro Vancouver and beyond.

At several locations, stock was gone within minutes, with resellers listing the cup for more than double its original retail price.

That frenzy, paired with limited availability, turned the item into an instant collector’s piece and created a wave of frustration among fans who missed out.

Walmart’s playful response has struck a chord online.

At a time when branded merchandise is increasingly seen as status symbols, the honey bottle hack reminds consumers that sometimes, a little humour goes a long way.

While it may not come with the official Starbucks logo, the bear bottle latte is quickly becoming its own kind of internet sensation.
