Vancouver’s coffee scene is about to get a new addition!
Forecast Coffee, the Whistler-born café known for its mountain-inspired ethos and ethically sourced beans, is expanding with a brand new location opening this weekend in Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood.
We spotted signs earlier this week revealing the new café will sit at the corner of East Hastings and Slocan.

It is tucked in the ground floor of the new YWCA Sandy So Vista building, a mixed-use space offering affordable and below-market housing.
For those unfamiliar, Forecast Coffee first launched in 2020 in Whistler, later landing on Main Street in Vancouver in 2021.
Their story is rooted in a deep love for the outdoors and a drive to build community, whether through the mountains, a perfectly-pulled shot of espresso, or their line of organic, fair-trade beans roasted weekly.
Forecast isn’t just about coffee, either.
The company donates 1% of its annual sales to support social, environmental, and community causes.
This will mark Forecast’s second Vancouver location, and a piece of paper taped to the window confirms that doors will swing open this Saturday.
During our visit, a staff member shared that this new café will mostly mirror the offerings from their Main Street shop.
That means you can expect caffeine-packed staples like americanos and oat lattes, non-caffeinated sips, wilder cookies, hearty sandwiches, and brunch-style bites.
The staff also teased that there will be some exclusive new items that will debut just at this location.
As for the space itself – from the quick peek, it has a similar vibe just like Main Street.
Tall windows bring in floods of natural light.
A sleek espresso bar clad in green tile anchors the open interior.
Overhead, a geometric wooden beam ceiling adds warmth and an architectural edge to the minimalist white walls and wood furnishings.
It feels calm, clean, and quietly cool.
With this new addition, Forecast Coffee joins the list of new food spots in the Hastings Sunrise area, including Mercado, Halina, Rumble Fish, and The Green.
