There’s another shift that has taken place on West Broadway.
404 Coffee Lab has quietly closed its indoor restaurant space.
404 Coffee originally launched in June 2024 as a takeout window beside Ramen One, across from the Broadway-City Hall Canada Line Station.

When Ramen One shut down in May 2025, 404 Coffee expanded by taking over the indoor restaurant space next door, transforming it into 404 Coffee Lab that June.
The new dine-in concept kept the individual solo dining booths and added a full food menu that featured Japanese-inspired dishes like katsu sandos, curry, and pasta alongside their signature drinks.
But the dine-in concept appears to have been short-lived.
By August, the space was quietly listed for sale, and now, the indoor restaurant has quietly closed its doors.
Despite the closure, the original 404 Coffee takeout window remains in operation, continuing to serve customers their signature matcha lattes, seasonal drinks, and soft serve desserts.

But the indoor space won’t remain empty for long.
That’s because we’ve discovered that it will be taken over by Oishinoya, who specializes in gyudon (traditional Japanese beef bowls) and by the same team behind Pokey Okey.
With the closure of its dine-in café, 404 Coffee Lab joins a growing list of recent Vancouver food business departures, including Mister in Kitsilano, Potluck Hawker Eatery, and The Juice Truck Yaletown.
Still, the continued operation of the original takeout window means fans won’t have to say goodbye to the brand entirely.
