With social distancing around, people can’t go out to catch up with close friends in their favorite neighborhood cafe over a nice cup of coffee. Little did we realize before how important and big deal local cafes are in our daily lives, so now, since everyone miss their favorite coffee places, people have started to create their own drinks at home and engage in social media challenges such as the Dalgona challenge. This is exactly what you could also give a try and do at your kitchen-turned-bar at home.
See these 5 popular and totally worth to try drinks during social distancing and video call your friends to share the recipes with them.
1.) Dalgona Coffee
The most popular drink right now, teeming with life over Instagram and TikTok is of course Dalgona. This caffeinated beverage is made by whipping instant coffee, sugar, and water, so you get a perfect whipped coffee. You can add cold or hot milk in it, but that’s up to your preference. And whether you are wondering where this coffee takes its roots from–it’s South Korea, where it’s available as a sweet candy sold on streets, and was particularly popular during the 1970s and 1980s.

2.) Brown Sugar Bubble Tea
Bubble tea, the luscious drink stirring black tea, milk, sugar syrup, and chewy tapioca pearls, which originated in Taiwan some three decades ago, has converted millions of boba fans around the world. You may think it’s something complicated to mix at home but in the absence of real action of chasing some bubble tea downtown, there came the inevitable rise of the homemade Brown Sugar Bubble Tea.
As it turns out, it’s not so difficult to make. You need dark brown sugar (or Taiwanese Black Sugar) and tapioca starch to prepare the boba and brown sugar and water to prepare the syrup.

First, you’ll need to prepare your dalgona coffee, then prepare your thai tea simply by using 3 in 1 thai tea powder without adding extra sugar. The end result is foamy, tasty, with a marshmallowy foam layer on the surface.
