10 Vancouver Restaurants and Food Spots That Have Recently Closed

Vancouver has lost at least 10 restaurants this spring. The closures span neighbourhoods from Joyce-Collingwood to Coal Harbour.

Here is a look at the Vancouver food spots that have recently closed.

1. Gringo

The affordable taco chain has closed all three locations after 12 years. Davie Street and Lonsdale held last service on March 7, with Gastown following on March 14. The team cited “ongoing challenges.”

The Michelin Guide-recommended Northern Italian spot inside the Fairmont Pacific Rim shut down quietly after nearly five years. The Kitchen Table Restaurants concept served cicchetti and house-made pastas.

4. Sunflower Bubble Tea

This family-run Taiwanese bubble tea shop near Joyce-Collingwood Station closed on March 24 after more than 20 years. The husband-and-wife team have retired. A Korean concept is planned for the space.

The Sichuan hot pot chain quietly shut down its Robson location after roughly nine years. The doors were chained with no announcement. The space is listed for sale at $368,000.
