The final weekend is here for one of Richmond’s longest-running bubble tea and waffle spots.
Bubble Queen Cafe at Pacific Plaza is in its last few days of business.
The shop announced on May 2 that May 24, 2026 will be its final day after 21 years of serving the city.

In a fresh Instagram post, the team shared the menu for closing week and asked customers to order ahead through Clover for pickup to skip the line during the final stretch.
“May 24th will be our last day open. Hope to see you before we close,” the post read.
The closing menu includes the bubble waffles the shop is known for, in flavours like Oreo, Matcha Mochi, Sesame Ube Mochi, Mango Mochi, Strawberry White Chocolate, Blueberry Cranberry, and Nutella, all at $8.50.
Plain waffles in original, chocolate, coffee, taro, and sesame run $6.50, with mochi, Oreo crumbs, and chocolate chip fillings as add-ons.
Their bubble drinks, mango smoothies, and soft serve round out the lineup.
For longtime regulars, Bubble Queen was one of the first spots in Richmond to push dessert bubble drinks before the category got crowded.
The Ferrero Rocher bubble drink in particular built a following back when most bubble shops in the city were sticking to standard milk tea and fruit slush menus.

The Pacific Plaza shop at 8888 Odlin Crescent is the last remaining location.
The brand previously had a Vancouver outpost on Oak Street that closed earlier.
Twenty-one years is a RARE run for any food business in Richmond, let alone a dessert drink spot.
Most of the bubble shops that have opened in the last five years would be lucky to see three.
But sadly, it is the end of the road for this OG spot.
If you haven’t been in a while, give them a visit before they shut down this weekend.
Bubble Queen Cafe joins other recently closed food spots in Richmond, including First Bite, Fok Po Tong, and Taikoo Yummy Foods.
