A Vancouver chili oil brand made with Fraser Valley duck fat is the first maker in a new limited-edition drop series from DINR.

Holy Duck Chili’s West Coast Chili Crisp Set launched October 15 on DINR Drops, a new shopping feature from the Montréal-founded dining platform.

The set is $68, ships anywhere in Canada, and stays up until November 15 while supplies last.

DINR is known for restaurant reservations and as the operating partner of Air Canada’s Best New Restaurants.

This is its first move into food you take home.

Inside the box are three chili oils, each built around a BC ingredient.

The Holy Duck OG is the brand’s signature, made with Fraser Valley duck fat and layered with triple-fried garlic and shallots.

The Spot Prawn Supreme is built on wild BC spot prawn head butter.

The ZERO DUCKS oil is the vegan one, made with lion’s mane mushrooms grown in Abbotsford.

The set also comes with Holy Duck’s stainless steel Hang in There Spoon, shaped to reach the crispy bits sitting at the bottom of every jar.

Holy Duck is run by Hong Kong-born husband-and-wife team Louise Pang and Chris Fung, who rework the Chinese flavours they grew up with using Canadian ingredients.

“We started Holy Duck to explore how the flavours we grew up with could find a new expression through Canadian ingredients,” Pang says.

The brand has been busy in Vancouver this year.

In July it presented The Fishy Business, a Hong Kong detective-themed seafood pop-up at Light Up Chinatown, and its duck-illustrated jars were already in more than 100 stores across Canada.

DINR co-founder Paul Stasiewich calls Holy Duck “the perfect first collaboration” for taking the platform “beyond the restaurant and into people’s kitchens.”

More drops are on the way, with the team planning a series of releases from Canadian makers and producers built around regional ingredients.

Eligible DINR Premium members also earn Aeroplan points on the purchase.

The window is short.

The set is sold only through DINR Drops, and it comes off the site November 15, or sooner if it sells out.
