The revolving door of Kingsway storefronts continues to spin.

It looks like Burnaby is trading in brown sugar pearls for handmade dough wrappers, as a new dumpling spot prepares to launch.

We recently spotted signage for Baohaus Dumpling & Drinks, which is currently renovating the unit that was formerly home to the bubble tea chain Xing Fu Tang.

While the owners are keeping a low profile with no official website just yet, a dig through their initial Google uploads reveals some promising visuals.

The menu appears to centre around handmade dumplings, but with a colourful twist.

Photos show dumplings in vibrant shades of green, yellow, black, red, and white, likely using vegetables for the dough.

The window decals at the shop are already teasing the philosophy: “Fresh Ingredients,” “Healthy Goodness,” and “Love What We Cook” are plastered across the glass.

Photos confirm the focus on fresh prep, showing fillings made from scratch with whole ingredients like chicken breast, kale, corn, beef, and celery.

Interestingly, the Google listing also teases some non-dumpling items, including chicken wings and pound cake.

There is no official opening date announced just yet, but judging by the finished exterior signage, it looks like they are gearing up to open the doors soon.

Baohaus joins a wave of new food activity in Burnaby, sitting alongside upcoming projects like the No Frills in the Heights, Chill Plate Foodie Market, and Money Food Ent. at Crystal Mall.
