Burnaby locals have lost another reliable spot for soup dumplings this week.
Dinesty Dumpling House has permanently closed its Kingsway location.
We spotted a “Thank You & Farewell” notice taped to the front doors of the restaurant, confirming the end of its decade-long run.

The sign confirms that the location will “officially cease operations on December 31, 2025”.
It expresses “deep regret” regarding the closure and thanks the community for their support over the years.
This isn’t just a small branch shutting down; it was a major anchor for the area.
This location was a significant part of the local food scene.

Opened on Boxing Day in 2015, it served the neighbourhood for 10 years.
It was designed as a 3,800-square-foot “grand dining facility” and was the brand’s sole outpost in Burnaby.
With the large Kingsway unit now dark, the company seems to be consolidating its full dine-in experience.
If you are looking for their specific style of XLB (Soup Dumplings), you will now have to travel a bit further.
The signage directs guests to visit their remaining full-service locations, such as the ones on Robson Street and in Richmond.
Dinesty Burnaby now joins the list of other longtime restaurants that has shut down in 2025.
