The wait is over for Burnaby’s newest dessert spot!
XISHI has officially opened inside Burnaby’s Crystal Mall.
Back in August, we shared that the Chinese tanghulu and yogurt dessert chain was bringing its first-ever North American location to Burnaby.
Now, you can finally get a taste of what has made XISHI a hit across Asia and beyond.

Originally founded in Shijiazhuang in 2003, XISHI has grown to more than 300 stores worldwide, including branches in Spain and South Korea.
The brand is famous for its tanghulu, a traditional Chinese street snack that features skewered fruits dipped in a glossy sugar shell that hardens into a satisfying crunch.
Traditionally made with hawthorn berries, tanghulu combines crisp sweetness and tangy fruit in every bite.
At the Burnaby shop, you will find an eye-catching lineup of tanghulu skewers, with fresh fruits like strawberries, grapes, and hawthorn, all coated in the brand’s signature crackly glaze.

The store also offers smaller “mini tanghulu” versions, perfect for a quick, on-the-go treat.
Beyond tanghulu, the menu introduces a playful mix of desserts that blend traditional Chinese flavours with modern textures.

There are yogurt cubes layered with fruit and toppings like Oreo crumbs or dragon fruit, and soft-serve yogurt parfaits that come in combinations such as strawberry and peach.
XISHI now joins other recently opened Burnaby food spots like Galbi KBBQ Brentwood, 2025 Cafe, and Big Way Hot Pot Brentwood.
