Sadly, another Downtown Vancouver food spot has announced its upcoming closure.
Mapo Pancake House in Yaletown shared on November 14 that they will be shutting down permanently, marking the end of their run after three years in the neighbourhood.
In their heartfelt announcement, the team thanked the community for every shared table, every sizzling pan and every pancake enjoyed together.
They called this their final week and invited guests to come in for one last pancake before the doors close on November 24.
Mapo opened back in 2022 with a focus on savoury Korean pancakes called jeon.
Their lineup included prawn chive, potato and cheese, bulgogi and cheese and other homestyle favourites that were often paired with makgeolli or soju.

The restaurant built a small but loyal following among locals who craved this comforting, hard to find specialty.
We noticed last year that Mapo Pancake House had been listed for sale, a sign that the end might be near.
Still, the official closure announcement feels like another tough goodbye for Yaletown.
Mapo Pancake House now joins a growing list of recently closed Vancouver food spots, including The Poor Italian, MeeT in Gastown and Cafe and Life Co Cambie.
