If you’ve walked down Robson Street, you’ve probably seen the redevelopment signs plastered outside Forage restaurant.
Well, it looks like the end is finally here for the beloved sustainable dining restaurant.
Forage, which opened back in 2012, connects diners to local fishers, foragers, and farmers.
Its menu was designed to be not just delicious, but also reflecting an unwavering commitment to local ingredients and community through shared plates.
Forage took to Instagram to share the news with its loyal patrons, expressing gratitude for years of support and memorable meals.
The closure comes as the Listel Hotel Vancouver prepares for redevelopment.
The hotel, which opened in 1992, is set to be demolished and transformed into a modern 28-storey mixed-use tower.
This redevelopment will include 174 hotel guest rooms and 126 secured purpose-built rental homes, adding a net gain of 45 hotel rooms to the area.
Whether Forage will make a return once the new hotel finishes sometime in 2028 is unknown.
The final dinner service is scheduled for Saturday, November 16, followed by a farewell brunch on Sunday, November 17.
The team invites guests to join them in celebrating the restaurant’s legacy with exceptional food, laughter, and cherished memories.
The Jervis Joint, located beside Forage, will also be closing this month.
For those who have savored Forage’s offerings over the years or wish to experience it before its closure, make sure to visit and bid farewell to this iconic Vancouver establishment.
But this isn’t the only change happening in the West End.
The neighbourhood will welcome Aisle, a 24/7 convenience store, and Fuwa Fuwa Dessert Cafe, a large Japanese souffle chain from the east coast, further contributing to the ongoing changes in the West End.
