Canada’s Iconic Fried Chicken Chain Opens First Burnaby Outpost

Mary Brown’s Chicken has officially opened its doors in Burnaby, marking the long-anticipated debut of the popular Canadian fried chicken chain in the city.

Located at 5902 Kingsway in the same plaza as The One Restaurant, the new outpost takes over the former Mosaic’s Newcomer Centre space.

After being spotted with coming soon signage earlier this summer, the restaurant quietly opened recently.

Now South Burnaby locals can now try the brand’s signature fried chicken and sides.

Originally founded in 1969 in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador, Mary Brown’s has grown into a household name across the country.

Known for its Canada Grade A chicken, hand-breaded and cooked fresh in small batches, the brand has built a reputation around quality and consistency.

Fan favourites include the Big Mary sandwich, crispy chicken pieces, and seasoned taters.

The Burnaby restaurant joins a network of nearly 300 locations nationwide and becomes the 18th in British Columbia.

While the opening was not accompanied by a major announcement, customers have already started visiting the new space, with early reviews noting quick service and familiar comfort food.

Mary Brown’s arrives as part of the wave of new openings in Burnaby, including XISHI, Galbi Kbbq Gilmore, and Il Cappello.
