In a city where finding a meal under $15 feels like a treasure hunt, we’ve got some exciting news!
Oyo Noodles, the hidden gem offering $10 Korean noodles, has quietly reopened in Downtown Vancouver!
If you’ve been missing this spot since it abruptly closed in April-ish, your affordable noodle fix is back, with a few minor changes.
Oyo Noodle first made waves when it opened in a tiny corridor inside Pokerrito in January 2024.
Word quickly got out about their killer deal—delicious noodles for just $9.99, tax included—and locals flocked to the spot, causing it to sell out almost daily.
But in April, Oyo suddenly closed, leaving many saddened by the loss of one of the few truly affordable dining options in the area.
Fast forward to now, and Oyo Noodles is quietly back in action.
According to the hours posted on the door, they’ve made some adjustments.
Lunch service is now to-go only, running from Tuesday to Saturday, 11 AM to 2 PM.
For those who prefer to dine in, dinner service is available from 4 PM to 9 PM on the same days.
The best part?
Their menu remains mostly unchanged, and those incredible $9.99 noodles are still available.
You can also grab a combo deal with your choice of noodle (Market Noodle, Sweecy, or Soyo) and a kimchi salad for just $13.99.
With only six-ish items on the menu, Oyo keeps it simple, focusing on simplicity.
The three main noodle dishes—Market Noodles (Janchi Guksu), Sweecy Noodles (Bibimmyeon), and Soyo Noodles (Ganjang Bibim)—are still the stars of the show, along with a few tasty sides.
Behind Oyo is Peter Ko, a chef with experience in everything from fast-paced quick-service spots like Cactus Club to the esteemed kitchens of the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
Opening Oyo has been a dream come true for Peter, and his mission is simple: to offer cheap, good food that everyone can enjoy.
“I wanted to do a service for the people,” Peter explains. “We’re in the people business, and I believe what people really want is cheap but good food.”
Oyo’s location inside Pokerrito is both strategic and symbiotic.
While it may seem hidden, Peter sees it as an opportunity to introduce his culinary creations to a broader audience.
During dinner hours, even though the hallway has just three bar seats, guests are welcome to sit anywhere within Pokerrito.
If you’re craving a budget-friendly, satisfying meal in Downtown Vancouver, Oyo Noodles is once again the spot to be.
Just don’t wait too long—these noodles are likely to sell out fast once the word is out again!
And don’t forget to share this news with your noodle-loving friends!
