If you work near Waterfront, you are probably used to the standard fast-food options at Harbour Centre.
But a new opening just changed the game for downtown lunch breaks.
93 Coffee, a family-run Japanese cafe, has officially brought authentic “Kissaten” culture to the food court as of December 18th.
If the name sounds familiar, it’s because this is an expansion of their original West End location.
93 Coffee opened back in 2022 as a retro Kissaten and has become a spot for Japanese comfort food like omurice, breakfast sets, and cultural events.
Now, the mother-and-son team behind the brand, Kumi and Rintaro, have brought that hospitality to the frantic downtown rush.
However, you need to know this before you go: this location is different.
While the West End shop is for sitting down with a meal, the Harbour Centre outpost is strictly designed for the “Grab & Go” crowd.
They are taking advantage of the busy office foot traffic to focus entirely on drinks and speed.
So, don’t expect the sizzling omelette rice here, you’ll still need to head to the original location for that.
Instead, the star of the show here is the line up of matcha and hojicha (roasted green tea) drinks.
You can grab a Matcha Strawberry, a Hojicha Mocha, or even a Mango Hojicha Latte.
If you do need a bite to eat, they are offering light authentic sides like Onigiri (rice balls) and tamago sandwiches (egg sandwiches).
It is the perfect size for a light lunch or snack between meetings or classes at SFU.
The shop is open Monday to Friday and until 3PM, catering strictly to the work-week crowd.
