Longtime Japanese Korean Fusion Restaurant To Open New Vancouver Location

There’s no doubt that Vancouver has a TON of sushi spots, and it’s one of the most competitive food scenes around.

So it’s always refreshing to see a beloved local name grow, especially when many restaurants are finding it hard to stay afloat.

One of those expanding gems is Green Leaf Sushi, which just announced on its Instagram its fourth location, this time along Kingsway.

Green Leaf Sushi will be taking over the previous Hot Pot Master spot that quietly shuttered its doors recently.

For many locals, Green Leaf is likely a familiar name.

The restaurant first opened back in 2012 in a tiny, humble unit on West Broadway, focusing mainly on sushi and a few appetizers.

Despite its modest beginnings, Green Leaf garnered a loyal following, leading them to expand their presence.

Their Burnaby Lougheed location was the first to showcase a larger menu, offering a blend of Japanese and Korean fusion dishes like the Tornado Omurice, Mentaiko Cream Linguine, and more.

But of course, their signature Aburi platter was always well-loved by many.

In 2022, Green Leaf ventured over to the North Shore, further extending its reach across Metro Vancouver.

Now, locals along Kingsway will get their chance to taste what Green Leaf has to offer.

Based on their previous expansions, our guess is that this new location will be similar to the Lougheed outpost, featuring an expanded menu and a modern dining atmosphere.

According to their Instagram post, the new Kingsway location is slated to open in mid-December.
