Japanese Matcha Cafe Chain To Leave Kerrisdale And Relocate In Vancouver After 6 Years

After six years, Nana’s Green Tea, the first North American location of the popular Japanese matcha chain, is making a big move.

The cafe announced on Instagram that its last day in the Kerrisdale hood will be September 29th.

They have plans to relocate to the current Food Hall by ZUBU unit.

Our research indicates that both brands share the same local ownership.

Nana’s Green Tea opened its doors in 2018 in Kerrisdale, marking the brand’s first North American venture.

Originally established in Tokyo, the chain is often called the “Starbucks of Japan” for its pioneering role in popularizing matcha.

As you can guess, their menu is all about matcha.

Everything from matcha frappes, sodas to soft serve and roll cakes.

All of their green tea leaves come from Uji, near Kyoto, which is globally known for their matcha production.

To make the move sweeter, Nana’s Green Tea is offering a free cake stamp card if you visit their Kerrisdale location before it closes on September 29th.

No purchase is required, and you’ll be able to redeem the free piece of cake at their new location once they reopen.

It’s the end of an era for Kerrisdale, but fans of the matcha chain can look forward to continuing their matcha obsession at the new spot.
