New Kitsilano Cafe Soft Opens With A Nifty Drink Delivering Elevator

Kitsilano’s Greektown is getting even cozier, with a new addition that coffee lovers will definitely want to check out!

Lumiere Cafe, known for its small-batch roasting and sleek vibes, has recently soft-opened its second Vancouver location on West Broadway as of October 9th.

Taking over a spot previously occupied by a lingerie store, this new Greektown outpost of Lumiere Cafe is slightly smaller compared to the Broadway City Hall flagship, but it’s packed with all the same charm.

This stylish artisanal cafe offers an intimate space with a twist: it even has a mini elevator (the actual name for them is dumbwaiter) to automatically bring drinks up to a second-floor seating area.

These are typically used in restaurants, hotels, and sometimes private homes to transport food or items between levels by reducing manual carrying.

That means your order can be efficiently transported without you needing to go back downstairs to pick up your drink and pastry.

That’s gotta be the first in Vancouver!

The new branch gives locals another spot to indulge in their premium, freshly roasted coffee.

For those new to Lumiere, their claim to fame is micro-roasting—roasting coffee beans in small batches every day right on site.

This means the cup you’re holding is about as fresh as it gets.

And if you’re in for a simple drip coffee, a pour-over, or something more adventurous like a nitro cold brew, Lumiere delivers a premium experience with plenty of variety.

Their soft opening comes with an exciting deal: buy two drinks, get one free (16oz drinks)!

Perfect timing to try some of their cozy autumn lineup.

Highlights include the Pistachio Cloud Latte, blending dark espresso with a creamy, nutty flair; the Honeycomb Latte, naturally sweet and rich in nutrients; and the Toffee Crunch Oat Latte—a caramel lover’s dream.

Plus, for a bit of whimsy, their Donut Series latte combines chocolatey, nutty, and vanilla hints in a fun, donut-inspired drink.

That one has been making rounds around Asia last year.

Just like at their first location, customers can enjoy watching the roasting process happen live, with the coffee roasting apparatus on full display—a touch that adds both aroma and atmosphere to the experience.

The second floor area has several more tables and seating available. This is a great spot for those who are looking to do some studying or work.
