Richmond Korean Dessert Shop Quietly Closes and Goes On A “Reset Time”

It looks like one of Richmondโ€™s longtime dessert shops has quietly hit pause.

A Noms Mag community member (@lchan.eats) spotted a notice taped to the door of Milkcow Richmond that reads: โ€œMilkcow Cafรฉ (Richmond location) will be in a reset time. We are looking for a new location. Thank you for your support!โ€

The shopโ€™s interior now sits dark, and there has been no formal announcement on their Instagram, website, or Google listing.

Milkcow, founded in South Korea in 2014, quickly grew into a global dessert chain with more than 50 branches across countries like the United States, Australia, Mexico, and the UAE.

When Richmondโ€™s outpost opened in 2018, it became the chainโ€™s first Canadian location and was run as a family-owned franchise.

The spot became known for its organic milk soft serve topped with playful add-ons, but their menu went far beyond that.

Locals loved their matcha and ube croffles, the seasonal watermelon ice cream sandwich, and specialty drinks.

It became a go-to summer stop for those chasing quirky, Instagram-worthy desserts.

Now, with their Richmond doors shut and no timeline confirmed for a new space, the community is left waiting to see if Milkcow will find another home.

For now, this pause adds to the growing list of quiet changes in Richmondโ€™s dessert scene.
