Popular Highly Rated Mexican Japanese Fusion Restaurant Opens New Vancouver Location

Vancouver’s beloved Mexican-Japanese fusion restaurant, Miso Taco, has officially settled into its new home in Cambie Village after a soft opening earlier in September.

Known for its bold flavours and unique fusion dishes, the 4.5 star rated restaurant has brought its fan-favourite menu from Chinatown’s Union Street to its larger, freshly designed space in Cambie Village.

After opening in June 2023 and quickly becoming a Chinatown staple, Miso Taco decided to relocate to expand their dining area and accommodate their growing customer base.

Owner and chef Diego saw this as an opportunity to bring his vision to life in a bigger space, complete with a custom-painted mural and decor that reflects his love for both Mexican and Japanese cultures.

At the heart of Miso Taco is Diego’s mission to capture the joy and excitement of dining out in Mexico, combining that energy with his passion for Japanese anime, culture, and food.

Decor wise: expect to see popular anime like Sailor Moon or JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure playing on the big screen, sake bottles turned into quirky light fixtures, and Diego’s love for Japanese culture shining through in a playful merch line that blends iconic anime moments with food.

The menu, packed with fan favourites from the Chinatown location, remains a must-try.

Whether it’s the birria tacos with Indomie ramen, kimchi nacho fries, or the sizzling cheesy mushroom plate, the fusion of flavours continues to delight customers.

And, of course, the sauces are just as important as the dishes!

One to look out for is Diego’s signature salsa and housemade chili oil, both adding a perfect balance of heat without overpowering the meal.

Miso Taco also offers an exciting drink menu, featuring fun options like the Matcha Martini and Miso Margarita, and mouth-watering desserts, including a churro mochi dish that’s already making waves.

Miso Taco’s new Cambie Village location is a vibrant space where Diego’s creativity shines, blending Mexican flavours with Japanese culture in a way that’s fun, fresh, and truly unique.

It is a spot to bring friends or family as all the items are easily shareable and the atmosphere makes for a good time!
