Burnaby is about to get a new sweet addition!
A Noms Mag community member (@andreanoms) spotted signage last week for a new spot called Panda Pancakes and Ice Cream, taking over the former Starbucks beside Chipotle at Metrotown.
The name alone has already sparked curiosity, but here is the part most people do not know.
Panda Pancakes is a full chain, and this upcoming Burnaby shop will be the brand’s first location in British Columbia.
The company started in 2021 during a time when everyone was looking for comfort wherever they could find it.
Their philosophy was simple. When life gets unpredictable, add sweetness.
That idea grew into a family run business focused on mini pancakes, crispy waffles, sweet bubble waffles, and customizable creations.
In the United States, they have locations across multiple states and an entire system built around licensing, all designed to make their fluffy mini pancakes accessible from coast to coast.
The heart of their brand is surprisingly wholesome.
Their youngest family member, two year old Mia, actually approves every new product.
Their mini pancakes are the star of the menu here.
Their toppings range from fresh fruit mixes to chocolate drizzles to syrupy add ons that can be stacked as high as you want.
Popular creations include the Nutella Babes with banana, Nutella cream, and warm milk chocolate drizzle.
The Strawberry Shorty leans into bright, fruity sweetness.
And the Creamy Dreamy Oreo Pancakes mix soft, fluffy batter with just the right amount of crunchy cookie bits.
For anyone who likes to build their own, the menu lets you stack mini pancakes or waffles with any combination of toppings.
They also sell Panda Pancake and Waffle Mix so you can recreate the experience at home.
Panda Pancakes now joins a growing list of Burnaby food spots opening, which includes John 3:16 Malaysian Delight Burnaby, Matcha Tea Lab at Crystal Mall, and Vegas Donuts.
