Metro Vancouver seems to be in the midst of a specialty cafe boom, and the latest spot to join the party is AVIK Cafe.
If you love discovering new and aesthetically pleasing cafes, here’s some good news: AVIK Cafe just soft opened on November 13th.
And it’s just a five-minute walk from Broadway Canada Line Station!
AVIK Cafe brings a minimalist, modern aesthetic to West Broadway.
The interior is sleek yet cozy, featuring light wood tones, white chairs and tables, and gold accents.
LED strip lights subtly illuminate the ceiling and walls, giving it a chic, contemporary feel.
One thing that surprised us was the large number of seats available – a big difference between the recent new cafes in the city.
It’s a welcoming bright environment with plenty of outlets as well—perfect for studying or getting some work done.
Plus, they’re open until 11 PM, which is great news for late-night studiers.
As for the menu, AVIK Cafe has a mix of coffee, pastries, cakes, and gelato that are bound to impress.
They offer all your usual caffeinated favorites, from lattes and espressos to cold brew, matcha latte, and tea.
From what we overheard, they’re using beans from Richmond’s Moving Coffee, which should excite any coffee enthusiast.
If you’re in the mood for something sweet, you’ll find butter croissants, coconut macaroons, and cookies—although you may need to act fast, as these tend to sell out quickly!
For dessert lovers, they have mousse cakes in flavours like mango coconut, matcha, and berry.
If you’re looking for something more filling, they’ve got savoury items too, like a turkey onion sourdough sandwich, baked eggs & mozzarella ciabatta, and salads.
And don’t miss out on their gelato!
It seems AVIK is collaborating with Gelato Maestro James Coleridge (of Bella Gelateria fame), as we saw him in the kitchen during our visit.
Flavours like Pistachio, Matcha Crumble, Dark Chocolate, and Sour Cherry & Chocolate are available, making for the perfect treat.
According to a post from their designer, AVIK Cafe plans to open multiple locations across Metro Vancouver, with this West Broadway spot being their first.
The poster on the windows states that their grand opening is scheduled to be this Sunday November 17th.
AVIK Cafe will be joining the new wave of coffee shops that recently opened like: Richmond’s Miion Cafe, Cambie Garden’s Cafe Algan, and Cambie’s Elysees.
