Richmond is dotted with bubble tea spots, but independent coffee shops?
Not so much.
Well, it looks like finally, the city is adding a new cafe to its roster.
We spotted Lion Fresh Press Cafe soft open during the weekend and went in for a look and bask in their AC.
Located right across from Richmond Centre and around the corner to the robot bubble tea spot, the new café isn’t just about great coffee; it also houses the travel company, Lion Travel.
Lion Travel, founded in 1985, boasts 36 locations worldwide and organizes over 70,000 tours annually.
It’s a fav among Chinese travelers, known for its top-notch group travel services.
Now, they’ve paired up with Fresh Press Coffee Bar, which has been around Richmond since 2012, to create a unique spot combining travel and top-tier coffee.
This cozy, modern café is bright, and features large windows, minimalist decor, and light-colored walls, making it perfect for a relaxing coffee break or casual work session.
The sleek counter showcases a variety of coffee-making equipment, adding to the chic, polished vibe.
On one side of the café, two tables are reserved for Lion Travel agents, ready to help you plan your next adventure.
Drinks-wise, expect all your favourite specialty espresso drinks and matcha options.
We were pleasantly surprised to see our iced Americano made with a shaker, cooling the espresso perfectly.
Their pastry case features treats like waffles and dacquoise from the Earthling brand.
Fresh Press first opened in Richmond in 2012, and this new spot marks their second location in the city.
Soft opened on July 2nd, Lion Fresh Press makes for a great new spot to lounge and sip some great coffee.
However, if you’re looking for a late-night hangout, note that the café closes at 5 PM.
For a unique blend of coffee and travel services, Lion Fresh Press is the place to be.
Share this exciting new spot with your friends and enjoy a cup of expertly brewed coffee in a welcoming, relaxed setting.
