New Sleek Japanese Restaurant Takes Over Evicted Eatery In Kitsilano

The foodie scene in Kitsilano just got another exciting new spot!

After Qube Restaurant’s sudden closure back in April, it didn’t take long for the space to find a new tenant.

Enter: Ocean Goose, a new Japanese sushi restaurant by the team behind TonTon Sushi, which finally opened its doors in late September.

Ocean Goose fills the space previously occupied by Qube, which was known for its Lebanese cuisine before getting its lease terminated.

Renovations, led by BOAS Construction, have completely transformed the space.

Although most of Qube’s original design was scrapped, Ocean Goose has retained an upscale feel but with a more relaxed twist.

Think sleek white marble-topped tables, velvet-covered chairs in rich earthy tones, and intricate wall panels, all illuminated by warm lighting.

The ceiling is adorned with lush hanging greenery and classic chandeliers, creating an inviting yet refined dining atmosphere—perfect for date nights or cozy gatherings.

When it comes to food, Ocean Goose delivers a stacked menu sure to satisfy every craving.

There are plenty of overlaps with the TonTon Sushi menu, but also some exclusive new dishes that make Ocean Goose stand out.

Sushi lovers will find themselves in heaven, with options ranging from beautifully crafted Oshi Sushi (like the Bluefin topped with caviar) to Temaki Hand Rolls, where you can make your own sushi right at the table.

The menu doesn’t end there.

The Lunch Bento Boxes, available daily, are loaded with fresh sashimi, rolls, tempura, and karaage—perfect for those midday cravings.

For those in the mood for something more substantial, the Teriyaki & Hot Plate options, like the Sockeye Salmon Teriyaki or Beef Short Ribs, promise a hearty and flavourful experience.

Whether you’re a fan of sushi, sashimi, hot pots, or grilled fish dishes, Ocean Goose’s menu is full of options!

If you’re in Kitsilano and craving a refined yet cozy Japanese dining experience, make sure to check it out soon!
