Gastown just scored a brand new spot for classic breakfast plates and old school burgers.

Aureliana has officially opened in the neighbourhood after a long wait with permits holding up their original launch plans.

We first covered Aureliana last year when Chef Akam Bains told us he wanted to bring back the simple charm of American diner food.

And now that promise is here to stay.

The restaurant soft opened on October 15th and sits on W Hastings Street with a view into the open kitchen.

You can watch all the action as stacks of pancakes and smash burgers come flying off the griddle.

Picture neon lights, a retro look, and a strong soundtrack. It feels like stepping into the past but in the best way.

Now for the menu. It keeps things familiar and comforting.

There’s the Trucker breakfast with pancakes, sausage, bacon, home fries, and eggs.

Pancakes come with salted butter and maple syrup.

Bennys and Bacon & Eggs are also ready to go for the breakfast crowd.

Burger lovers have options, too. The Classic comes with American cheese and signature mayo.

The Oklahoma brings grilled onions and mustard. And the Luna stacks a burger with a grilled hotdog and bacon for the people who like to go big.

For sandwich fans, check out the Reuben or the Clara breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and American cheese.

Fresh cut fries start at only five bucks, and people are already calling the place affordable.

Aureliana promises no fancy tricks. Just good food cooked right and a bit of fun for anyone craving comfort food.

The space fits about 30 people. It is designed as a nod to downtown Vancouver’s diner days from the 80s and 90s.

Chef Akam says they are exactly what the area has been waiting for.

The diner is open Tuesday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. So yes, you can get pancakes for dinner.

Aureliana joins a growing lineup of casual comfort food spots bringing new life to the city, including Akihana Sushi, Oishinoya Broadway, and Viet Street Food Cafe.
