Looks like Mount Pleasant’s about to get a glow-up in the fried chicken and donut department.
After Cartems Donuts closed down back in February, donut fans across the city were left in mourning (and maybe a little angry).
But the question on everyone’s mind was—what’s taking over the Main Street space?
Well, we finally have the answer.
And it’s pretty sweet (and crispy).
On March 19th, Cream Pony officially announced that they’ll be taking over the former Cartems unit at Main and 6th.
If that name sounds familiar, it’s because this North Vancouver gem has been slinging southern fried chicken and handmade donuts since 2021—and doing it very well.
What makes this even more wholesome?
In a video announcement, co-founder Ali revealed that she’s actually been living in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood for the past six years and has been dreaming of opening in the area ever since Cream Pony started.
So this move isn’t just business—it’s kinda personal.
The quirky little spot—founded by mother and daughter duo Erin and Ali—quickly became a North Shore gem thanks to its unique quirky interior, comforting fried chicken sandwich, and donuts that people gladly cross bridges for.
With the Mount Pleasant location, they’ll be bringing all that donut energy back to the same space that Cartems once filled—aka, the neighbourhood’s former carb sanctuary.
So yes, the donut legacy lives on.
While we don’t have exact details on the menu just yet, if the OG location is anything to go by, expect classic southern-style fried chicken, fluffy made-from-scratch donuts, and maybe a few wild specials thrown in for fun.
As for timing?
Mark your calendars for Fall 2025.
Until then, we’ll be dreaming of donut-fried chicken sandwiches and counting down the days.
Welcome to the neighbourhood, Cream Pony!
