The wait is finally over for tea lovers in Richmond!
The team at Paragon Tea Room has shared with Noms Magazine that their new, highly anticipated Richmond outpost is soft opening this Friday, September 20, 2024.
Back in July, we teased a few initial details about this upcoming location, and now we’re excited to confirm that tea enthusiasts can finally soon visit Paragon’s latest spot.
For now, you can expect the same beloved menu as their Vancouver location, with fan-favourite teaspresso-based lattes like the Hojicha Oat Misto making their way to Richmond.
However, there’s a new twist!
Paragon has partnered with Buttercrumbs to offer their tea-infused mochi muffins on their pastry menu.
This gives customers a new sweet treat to pair with their drinks – beyond their usual cookie and bubble waffle items.
Michelle teased that special drinks and collaborations will make an appearance once they get settled in.
As for the interior, the Richmond location will feature slightly more seating and wall plugs, making it an ideal spot for those looking to do some work or studying while sipping on some stellar tea drinks.
Seating-wise, the cafe can fit 13 people comfortably – which is a big improvement from their Cambie Street location.
Since its humble beginnings in April 2019, Paragon has gained a reputation for its high-quality, innovative tea offerings.
Co-founded by Michelle Cheung and Nelson Poon, the brand focuses on blending traditional tea culture with modern flavours and techniques.
Their use of the teaspresso machine—which extracts concentrated tea shots under high pressure—mimics traditional Chinese kung fu tea ceremonies, giving their tea lattes a bold, rich flavour.
The Richmond location takes over the space formerly occupied by Faebrew beside Parker Place.
Michelle Cheung explained in an earlier interview with Noms Magazine, “Richmond has evolved into a gathering place for both locals and visitors, with its warm, culturally diverse, and vibrant energy. It’s the perfect place for Paragon to continue growing and innovating in the world of tea.”
The Richmond outpost will maintain the same “perfectly imperfect” gem-inspired design philosophy that Paragon embraces, with natural lighting and a spacious home café merchandise area.
Though this Friday marks the soft opening, we can’t wait to see how Paragon continues to evolve in Richmond.
They will be joining a slew of changes happening in the city’s food scene, which has recently seen the opening of Rice Holic’s second location, a return of Long’s Noodle House, and HeyTea arriving in Richmond.
Don’t forget to share this exciting tea news with your tea-loving friends!
