Back in late February, we reported the unexpected closure of Community Taps + Pizza on Commercial Drive
That debacle also left several employees jobless without prior notice.
Since then, there has been much speculation about what would fill the prominent corner unit on the Drive.
Recent developments have confirmed that Sing Sing Beer Bar will be taking over the space.
The brand announced this on their social media platforms, and new signage has just been installed at the unit, signaling the upcoming changes.
Sing Sing, known for its lively atmosphere and its trio of comforting foods: pho, pizza, and craft beer.
Those who have visited their Main Street location can attest to its popularity.
Sing Sing is a part of the Freehouse Collective group (formerly known as the Donnelly Group), which operates a large number of restaurants and bars across the city.
This includes Isabelle’s and Hundy in Yaletown, The Lamplighter and Clough Club in Gastown, and The Ballyhoo, Brassfish, and Three Brits in downtown Vancouver.
Photos released of the new location all signal its decor to mirror the minimalist design with warm wooden accents style that their Main Street outpost featured.
This will mark the second Sing Sing location in Vancouver and is slated to open in May.
