The never-ending lineup at Ramen Danbo.
There’s literally one at all times of the day – for years.
Well, this lineup may now form in Kerrisdale as the popular Japanese ramen chain is set to grand open their newest outpost on January 18th.
This news comes after a long delay, as posters on the front door indicated it was slated for Spring 2023.
But it is finally happening!
Following the buzz around the recent Santouka opening in Richmond, this expansion signifies another win for ramen enthusiasts in Metro Vancouver.
Who is Ramen Danbo?
Originating from Chikushino, Fukuoka, Ramen Danbo first opened its doors in 2000.
The brand quickly became a hit, leading to a rapid expansion across Japan and later branching out to international locations.
Ramen Danbo’s first restaurants outside of Japan were the Kitsilano and Robson outlets. This eventually led to outposts in Seattle and New York.
Celebrated for its Kyushu Hakata-style Tonkotsu ramen, Ramen Danbo offers an authentic taste of Fukuoka.
The hallmark of Ramen Danbo is its customizable ramen bowls.
Diners have the freedom to tailor their ramen, from noodle thickness and firmness to the intensity and richness of the broth, right down to the umami spice level.
Aside from the delicious taste, this level of personalization is a key factor in the chain’s popularity and sets it apart from other noodle establishments.
Now, Kerrisdale’s noodle scene is already bustling with popular spots like Kokoro Mazesoba, Zubu, and Sip Bowl La Mian.
With one of the best ramen spots in Vancouver entering the area, it is going to get spicy.
Inside you can expect the same simple homey ambiance and beloved menu as its other locations.
Like the Robson location, there is plenty of seating and numerous bar seats to catch a bit of the action in the kitchen.
The new Kerrisdale location is set to open tomorrow January 18th. Their announcement did not indicate any special promotions for the grand opening.
